Ecotourism Consultant (2005 - 2006)
As an Ecotourism Consultant for The Nature Conservancy, I wrote a comprehensive report on the primary tourist attractions, infrastructure, financial information, and future plans for development at five UNESCO Natural World Heritage Sites worldwide.
I created promotional materials and contacted over 60 responsible tour operators in an attempt to generate interest in developing sustainable tourism partnerships. |
Ecotourism Assistant (2005)
As an Ecotourism Assistant at Conservation International, I evaluated and wrote project summaries for 14 ecotourism projects worldwide.
I proofread, edited, and managed production of the manual, "Linking Communities, Tourism & Conservation: A Tourism Assessment Process." The manual was co-sponsored by The George Washington University and USAID and is utilized by field practitioners worldwide (see right). |

Internship (2005)
As an Intern, I assisted the Director of the Center for Sustainable Destinations at National Geographic with determining whether or not Botswana should be allowed to partner with them on a Geotourism Charter. My research led to the conclusion that it was an inappropriate time due to an ongoing court case between Botswana's government and the San Bushmen over land ownership rights.
