I managed all aspects of production for two editions of the 'Stay Another Day' Cambodia booklets as a consultant for both the German International Cooperation (GIZ) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). This free tourist booklet encourages tourists to:

Ecotourism Consultant (2010)
I researched and wrote an Ecotourism Feasibility Study for The Asia Foundation. I analyzed and assessed the feasibility of developing community-based and ecotourism activities in six communities.

I worked closely with a wide range of stakeholders including community representatives, local government, private-sector businesses, and local and national NGOs in order to fully analyze the situation. Ecotourism Technical Advisor (2007)
I was the Ecotourism Technical Advisor for the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) and produced the first draft of an Ecotourism Management Plan outlining the framework for building an ecolodge and related tourism products including ecotrails, birdwatching, rafting and other low-impact, nature-based tourism activities. Tourism revenues were to go to local communities and conservation projects in the protected areas.
I worked closely with national staff and conducted community assessments with indigenous people living in and around the Srepok Wilderness area in an effort to analyze their capacity for serving tourists as guides, in hospitality, and through community-based projects. I managed all aspects of producing the colorfully illustrated 16-page, "Srepok River Discovery Trail" reusable booklet for visitors. It is beautifully designed and illustrated by Khmer artists with 16 numbered items of interest, including plants and animals, that can be found along a 2km walking trail (see right). |
