Ecotourism Consultant (2014 - 2015)
|
As an Ecotourism Consultant for Agriconsulting Rome, I conducted six weeks of fieldwork and research to prepare comprehensive Ecotourism Management Plans for three national parks in Bangladesh. The project was part of the World Bank funded, "Strengthening Regional Cooperation for Wildlife Protection Project."
I reviewed the training needs of Bangladesh's Forest Department staff in relation to nature-based sustainable tourism development. I guided the local tourism expert in designing and preparing training modules and materials on ecotourism. I also wrote a chapter on Ecotourism for the Wildlife Management Master Plan at the national level. In 2015, I returned to present the ecotourism plans to the Ministry of Forest and Environment and taught a "Training of Trainers on Ecotourism" for the Bangladesh Forestry Department. |
